Simple box rack for spices

Maybe this is not the best chosen wood for kitchen use, yet maybe not. I had just enough cut offs, nothing more. For quite sometime now wife has been using shoe boxes to hold the spices, I think we could do slightly better than just cardboard.

Good that I had decided to build this miter sled for the table saw few days ago, allowing me to have much quicker miter cuts for the box joints.

Box materials were ready for assembly.

After trying out different type of clamps and caulks,  I found that the best securing method to let glue dry was to use tape butting up the joints tightly and flipped them after glue was applied. Tape provides just enough holding power and not too much to force box changes out of square.

Next built a supporting rail using pocket screws

Assembled together

Perhaps it is the right wood after all…
