Workbench Series-2

Getting the top ready…

I don’t have a jointer. Ohh boy, this means some serious workout. Luckily I have learned how to bring steel edge to serious sharpness but still, it is really a workout, especially on sugar maple.

Also luckily I have a reliable Stanley, Woodriver and Veritas and more luckily I have O1, A2 and PMV11. To be honest, as the planing goes into the fifth hour, I can’t really tell which blade is actually more superior than the rest or if the water stone is better than diamond stone in restoring the edge.

I think we as human invented electricity for a reason, perhaps there is a place in my shop to store a belt sander for sharpening, or perhaps even for the beast jointer.

Perhaps, I just need more endurance training exercise.

(Should have taken the mountain of shavings I swept away)
